Crystal Dynamics has taken into account the different player profiles when building its new production.
The heroes are not for a few, they are for everyone, whatever your condition. That also moves to Marvel’s Avengers, the new title produced by Square Enix and developed by Crystal Dynamics in collaboration with Eidos Montreal. In the development of the Avengers game, accessibility as well as the challenge have been in the lead. This was stated by Scot Amos, head of Crystal Dynamics, in statements to IGN Italy.
According to the creative, the intention is to achieve a balance. The game is going to be accessible enough so that Marvel fans who are not keen on video games can enjoy the game. However, those looking for a challenge will also have the possibility to exploit the Avengers’ abilities to the fullest, since the mechanics have been built so that the player “studies what is the best way to build the character or play with several heroes” .
Stan Lee participated in the game
When developing the title, the Crystal Dynamics team met with Stan Lee himself, who passed away recently. The creators of many of Marvel’s most successful characters helped them establish the starting point of the story, as we published on MeriStation, although it is unknown to what extent he collaborated in the decisions.
Marvel’s Avengers is in development for Xbox One, PS4, PC and Google Stadia. If there are no last minute delays, the production will be ready by May 15, a few days before The Last of Us Part 2 makes its market debut.
Crystal Dynamics has conceived the game as a product that will expand over the years. In a press release, Bandai Namco – distributor of the game in Spain – said the title will be updated in the future with free content for all players. That includes new heroes, regions and stories within the Avengers universe, which we remember, is not the same as movie tapes.
